Having lost a battle with my aging Epson printer I am changing my way of photographing subjects and using them on future post cards! The printer no longer likes to print the true color of my photos so I plan to sneak up on its “blind side”! I will be photographing in black and white then then using Adobe Shop Elements give a black & white antique and other looks such as this sample of “pinhole” finish! Think Life magazine ala 1930’s! When you’re handed a lemon make lemonade! :-)
                This mural was designed by students at Asbell Elementary School during spring 2016 working With Art NWA.  Students designed the mural from start to finish. They chose the theme of “Dreams and Preservice” using a colorful pastel palette and artwork taken from actual drawings! Many thanks to the title sponsor “The Stephen Colbert Americone Dream Fund that made this mural possible!  Great work kiddos!

                John Latta, an early pioneer in what was to become Washington County Arkansas. Leaving his large family in Tennessee he joined a group of explorers in the early 1830’s and traveled via the Tennessee, Ohio, Mississippi and Arkansas rivers to reach western Arkansas. Then an arduous trip on horse and foot he arrived and claimed land near what is now Evansville on the border between Northwest Arkansas and Oklahoma. He named his parcel “The Vineyard “and upon completion of this log home brought his family west from Tennessee. He saw The Vineyard as an “industrial center” to supply early northwest Arkansas with a mill, an iron monger supplying tool making and repairs.                  John Latta was born in 1790 in South Carolina and passed away in 1861 in Van Buren AR.  H is buried there beside his wife Jane Starr Latta. Colorful Mural at Walker Park - Fayetteville AR

            This outdoor mural portrays the life, times and events of south Fayetteville Arkansas dating back to the early 1800’s.  The mural was painted on three sides of the concrete handball court at Walker Park.         The project was undertaken by the City of Fayetteville and Joann Kaminsky, an accomplished local artist took the lead and working with others created the design and drew the outlines of the figures shown on this finished work. Then other volunteers worked at finishing the three sided work by adding the color. Many volunteer hours were required to accomplish the task. Mural on East Wall of Town Center Mall - Fayetteville AR

This incredible mural was created by the very talented Jason Jones whose murals are featured all over northwest Arkansas.
